SRT Zero Backlash Rotary Actuators

The SRT series is composed of fully programmable rotary actuators that offer a highly dynamic operation, able to position large loads with remarkable accuracy thanks to their zero backlash. Usually installed in state of the art machines in manufacturing cells, their zero-backlash transmission allows for full synchronization with robots or other digital peripherals. Their large central opening allows engineers create more compact and higher performing designs, that were previously unthinkable.

100% Programmable: The Smart Decision

Ever dreamed of being able to produce multiple different parts with the same machine? SRT Actuators, due to being fully programmable, allow this with just a program swap. Everything can be adjusted: the number of workstations can be completely changed, and each workstation can have a different angle assigned, with it's own acceleration, operation and deceleration cycle. The optimization possibilities offered by the SRT actuador can thus lead to much higher productivity.

Fully synchronized with the robot and the rest of the machine's peripherals

Consider a typical welding robot application for large volume production. Cam-based rotary tables will position the part, fully stop, and only then can the robot start it's programmed path to perform the weld. There is little to no feedback between the two machines until the table stops, which introduces significant dwell times. Conversely, using a zero backlash programmable SRT actuator, both the robot and the actuator can move concurrently, their movement fully synchronized, on a very precise programmed path. This has clear advantages: on one hand there's an increase in productivity, due to the elimination of dwell times; and on the other there's a reduction on the wear to the robot, since it's path can be optimized thanks to the actuator placing the part in the robot's optimal working area.

Born for Industry 4.0

Industry 4.0 is a concept describing manufacturing as a set of interconnected processes through the Internet of Things (IoT). SRT Actuators are controlled by a fully digital system that dictates their every movement. This simplifies their integration with data acquisition devices and computer vision systems, simplifying the development of industrial processes. SRT Actuators are used in all industrial sectors, from automotive manufacturing, to filling and packaging machines, to controlling bio-medical devices.

A Large Central Opening: More Compact Machines

SRT Actuators present a large central opening through which cables and fluid ducts can be easily routed, allowing cutting tools, sensors, laser cutters, hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, etc to be placed on the inside of the machine. Starting with medium size actuators, even full pick&place robots can fit in the inner space, and on the largest models, even high powered robots can be placed inside of the actuator.
